The One Hundred Year Old Cabin

When we work with a piece of wood we like to know the story behind it. We want to know where it came from, how old it is and how it was previously used. When we had the opportunity to purchase a deconstructed 100 year old cabin in Winston Salem, NC we jumped all over it!

We had to rent a large enough truck and trailer to haul the massive load the 300 miles home. The cabin that we purchased had already been deconstructed, leaving the good hand hewn beams. These beams are filled with character! Between the authentic dove tails, ax marks, primitive nails to the mortis and tenon holes these beams are the real deal! We have beams that range from 5’ to 18’ in length.

What do we plan on doing with the beams? Well, we have clients that want to put them on their ceilings, mantles and to make furniture from them. The possibilities are endless! Keep up with us on Instagram to see what the future holds for these beams.
